23 April 2015
So April 2015 sees another wedding chapel open in Las Vegas. The only thing missing from this Elvis themed chapel is an Elvis impersonator - and that's just how Priscilla Presley wants it.
Having married The King in Sin City in 1967 at the Aladdin Hotel (where The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino now stands), she was determined that nothing was going to cheapen his memory when this chapel opened recently inside the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino at 3000 Paradise Road.
"This is all first-class," she told the Associated Press. "This is not a joke. The wedding chapel is not a joke."
The wedding chapel is part of the first permanent exhibit of Elvis artefacts outside of Graceland, the singer's Memphis home. You'll even find a photograph of the building as a backdrop to the altar.
So why the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino? Well, it's the same property where Elvis performed several hundred sold-out shows between 1969 and 1976, when it was known as the International Hotel and later the Las Vegas Hilton.
You can find the chapel here http://www.graceland.com/vegas/chapel/ Prices for a wedding or renewal of vows ceremony start at $350.
