12 September 2012

Las Vegas firefighters put out a fire in the early hours of 12th September in the steeple of the Wee Kirk O' the Heather wedding chapel - one of the oldest wedding chapels in Las Vegas.

At 4:02 a.m., a passerby reported smoke coming from the chapel at 231 South Las Vegas Boulevard., Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

Firefighters climbed the steeple and cut a small hole in it before putting out the flames. Reports say that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction, and damage is estimated at $5,000.

The good news in that no-one was hurt in the fire, and we wish the chapel owners well in getting everything back to normal a.s.a.p.
