12 October 2014
Friday 10th October 2014 is a big day in the history of Las Vegas Weddings: it's the first full day that weddings for gay and lesbian couples has been legalised.
While commitment ceremonies for same sex couples have been available for years at a number of wedding chapels, they were never legally binding, so this is great news for the gay community as well as for the Las Vegas wedding industry.
A panel of judges from the ninth US circuit court of appeals lifted Nevada's ban on gay marriage on Tuesday 7th October, and after final legal wranglings, Clark County marriage bureau (which issues wedding licences for Las Vegas) began to issue marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples late Thursday evening.
We're contacting all the chapels right now - so watch this space and we'll bring you info about the gay and lesbian wedding packages available.
