Now showing at the Rio Hotel, "Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding," is the longest running show in off-Broadway history. It is the creation of the improvisational comedy troupe, Artificial Intelligence and offers a great night out.
This fun, interactive show lets audiences attend a 'real' wedding where there is a ceremony, reception, guests and lots of improvisation. The performance satirises an Italian-American wedding, and the audience participates in all aspects of the fictitious event - including dinner, wedding cake and dancing.
Unpredictability is key as the actors are indistinguishable from guests, so no one is quite sure what's going to happen (just like a real wedding!). It's funny, it's rowdy, and you don't even need to buy a wedding present.
The evening begins with a wedding ceremony, followed by a reception. The dinner includes hors d'ouevres, a champagne toast and a full Italian buffet. From there, a rousing reception takes place with the Nunzio and Vitale families, which includes a pasta dinner, champagne toasts, wedding cake and dancing to a five piece band.
Performances are nightly at the Rio Hotel at
7 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets by phone, call the Rio Box Office at (702) 777-7776.
